Sometimes in online backups the server might get overloaded since many programs and functions are being run on the same time. The output levels and performance of the servers at these times can get real low. There have been cases of server crashes when the load was too much and there is always a risk of this. Due to this risk factor and server crash cases; remote backups came into existence and gained good popularity in short time.
